Union Minister Darshana Jardosh inaugurates Gartex Texprocess India’s launch edition in Mumbai

Making a grand entrance at the financial capital of India, the first Mumbai edition of Gartex Texprocess India has been inaugurated today by Smt Darshana Jardosh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Textiles & Railways, Government of India at the Jio World Convention Centre. As part of the Gartex Texprocess India’s knowledge forum, the exclusive Denim Talks series is ready to unravel discussion on digital manufacturing, bio dyeing technique and flash dyeing technique of indigo for the first time in India will be.

With Denim Show, Fabric & Trims Show and Screen Print India hosted under its umbrella, the Mumbai launch edition of Gartex Texprocess India 2022 has opened today with more than 100 exhibitors and over 250 brands on the show floor.

Addressing the industry and discussing the future roadmap for textile industry, Smt Darshana Jardosh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Textiles & Railways, Government of India, stated: “I congratulate Messe Frankfurt India and MEX Exhibitions for expanding this exhibition concept from Delhi to Mumbai and creating an international level show in India, which endeavours to bring the Fabric to Fashion solutions onto a single platform. I am extremely happy to share with you that India’s textile and apparel sector registered the highest ever growth of 40.55% in its exports and reached USD 43.44 Billion in FY 2021-22 compared to USD 30.90 Billion in FY 2020-21’.

“I urge the industry promote the Government’s “Vocal for Local” campaign which is now moving towards “Vocal for Global’’. Vocal for Local is the real brand ambassador of Make in India movement by emphasizing the promotion of local brands, manufacturing and supply chain, and shows such as Gartex Texprocess India are excellent initiatives and a much-needed show to fill this technology gap.” Smt Jardosh, further stated.

Denim Show 2022 is also making its debut in Mumbai through the showcase of innovative, fashionable and sustainable denim products. By the collaboration of the Denim Show and the Indigo World with artisans from Adiv Pure, Neelpath has set up a live workshop where the application of natural indigo in fabric dying is being manually demonstrated under the expert guidance of Rupa Trivedi.

Highlighting technical innovations & ‘green’ initiatives in the denim manufacturing, an exclusive Denim Talks series is set to present Digital manufacturing and Bio Dyeing technique for the first time in India while the first-ever Flash dyeing technique of indigo will be made public tomorrow on 13 May 2022. International denim brand, Levi Strauss will be discussing its Sustainability initiative during this forum.

Under the umbrella of Gartex Texprocess India, Screen Print India is displaying new technological capabilities in digital textile and screen-printing, screen printing, digital sublimation, heat transfer and textile printing, from brands like Dhaval Color Chem Pvt Ltd, Konica Minolta, Skyscreen International Pvt Ltd., Stovec Industries, Epson India Pvt Ltd and many more.
